<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - DOECHII - ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL</image:title>
<image:caption>This album is banger after banger. The first half is super energetic, switching up so many rap styles it’s hard to keep up. Then it mellows out towards the end. I first came across Doechii through her Tiny Desk Concert—which I’ve rewatched many, many times! Her creativity and energy in performances are just next-level.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Press Club - Late Teens</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s about time I had a new album of the week. Press Club released Late Teens last year. I found it through a playlist (the norm these days) and then delved deeper into the full album. It is punchy, loud and the distorted vocals are everything I wanted. I was having a head-bang in the coffee shop so I can imagine dancing round the room at home - limbs everywhere.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Michael Kiwanuka</image:title>
<image:caption>This album was given to me on vinyl by a very good friend of mine. I needed a new needle for my turntable and refused to listen to the album until I had got one. It was worth the wait. This album is a journey. I have always loved Michael Kiwanuka but this album has just solidified that feeling. His voice has such a warm tone and the gospel-type backing vocals and brass section create a big sound. It’s so soulful and I can’t stop listening.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Lizzo - Cuz I Love You</image:title>
<image:caption>I first heard of Lizzo when she went on tour with Haim - I know, I was late to the scene. I was pretty excited to be able to catch her set at Glastonbury and since then I have had her album on repeat. Her influences include Missy Elliot and Prince combined with gospel soul and her notorious flute solos. She has an infectious personality on stage and her tracks are fun, empowering and relatable. Go and give it a listen and a dance.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Green Gardens - I've Wanted</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve Wanted is the debut single from Leeds based shimmery, alt rock band Green Gardens. Their sound is a hard one to put a label on which is always a good thing in my eyes. Their harmonies in this track are like a chocolate sundae, layers of vocals with catchy melodies. The beat is creative with a strong cowbell presence and the guitars have a summery vibe, what’s not to love?!</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Matt Heming - Happy Little Trees</image:title>
<image:caption>Happy Little Trees is the debut single from singer songwriter Matt Heming. Having recently moved to Liverpool, he is working on his music again and will be releasing an EP later this year. This track leaves you focussing on the honest lyrics and vocals with the guitar set more in the background of the mix. There is a small hint that Bob Ross has been an influence, whether it’s the title of the track, the lyrics or the fact he features on the artwork, it is evident throughout. Matt is on the open mic scene in Liverpool so keep an eye out on his socials for his next gig.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - ILL - We Are ILL</image:title>
<image:caption>ILL were brought to my attention a while back and having recently listened to their album We Are ILL, I thought I’d better do a feature. Based in Manchester, they have been around since 2012. They describe themselves as a ‘genre-evading band’ which is a very accurate description. It’s the music equivalent of when you make a meal with anything and everything you can find in the cupboard and you question why you’re not working in a Michelin starred restaurant. It an experiment and it works. It’s a loud and powerful album featuring overdriven guitars, multiple vocal effects and other spontaneous noises. They are currently signed to Box Records and released the album last year. Before the album, ILL had self-produced and released multiple singles with their own artwork too. They are next playing at the Girl Gang 2nd Birthday Party at Wharf Chambers, Leeds on 2nd March.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - I Set The Sea On Fire - Sleep Now Suburbia</image:title>
<image:caption>I Set The Sea On Fire are responsible for the alt rock magic of Sleep Now Suburbia, their debut album released in March 2016. Yes, I’m late to the party but I am glad I found these guys… eventually. Tastes Like Funk is the track that roped me in, it’s bluesy riffs, layered vocals and brass section gives it a huge sound. The 5 piece from Sheffield have been around since 2010, they’ve been recognised by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2. Their next live gig is in Sheffield at the Peddler Night Market.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Bethlehem Casuals - Feels On Wheels</image:title>
<image:caption>Starting the year off with Bethlehem Casuals. I saw them at Band on the Wall in Manchester the other night. Their tunes were groovy and their stage presence was infectious. Even without their lead singer, they smashed it. I thought it was only right to feature Feels On Wheels which is their debut album, released in March last year. It takes you on a journey that’s for sure. The 7 piece from Manchester have an experimental sound combining sax, bongos and cello with electric guitar, drums and bass. The powerful vocals really add to the sound and one of the tracks even features rap. It’s a very varied, musically diverse album that needs a listen if you haven’t already.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Body Heat - Sunnyside</image:title>
<image:caption>This week’s album is an absolute banger (as usual) coming from Sunnyside. They are a funk, jazz, hip-hop 5 piece from Melbourne. I heard their track Disco Bananas first and ever since then I must have added to the streams considerably! The album Body Heat takes you on a journey of funky bass-lines, off beat drums and the occasional brass/wind instrument. The singing is dreamy too. Faith in humanity is restored…</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Chania - Amy Lou</image:title>
<image:caption>Only released last month, Chania is the new single from Amy Lou. Listening to her previous tracks, she seems to be taking a more upbeat approach and it’s awesome. The track is leads you in with a chilled, ambient guitar tone and then you get caught off guard with the drums, syncopated guitar and powerful vocals (ft. a Shania Twain reference), it makes me want to dance! Go and have a listen and I guarantee it will improve your day.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This weeks album of the week is an EP - yes it still counts - from le-naSty. I stumbled across Stan’s music and had to stop what I was doing to see who was behind it. You know it’s something special when that happens. His tracks are so creative with syncopated beats and that gravelly vocal. The EP has a chilled hip-hop vibe about it, all written, recorded, mixed and produced by Stan himself - DIY done right. I can’t wait to catch him live sometime. Go and check him out!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Band of Skulls are a band that I have followed and loved for years. This is their 2014 album which is filled with 12 solid tracks with both creative rhythms and songwriting. They also put on an insane live show and I can’t wait for them to be back on tour.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Sum of all Your Parts - Fatherson</image:title>
<image:caption>Fatherson released their third studio album not long ago and it is incredible. I have seen them live multiple times and they are such a good band to watch, plus their style is something else. The album features driving bass riffs, accompanied by creative drum beats. The vocals are like chocolate… Scottish chocolate! The tracks are catchy and they’ll be stuck in your head for days.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - Update Your Brain - The Tuts</image:title>
<image:caption>Update Your Brain is a high energy, 12 track album with strong opinions and fast guitars. I saw The Tuts at Brudenell Social Club this weekend. Their set was incredible and having heard only a couple of their tracks before, I bought their CD. It’s amazing and it’ll give you the motivation to get up and do that thing that you should have done an hour ago… we’ve all been there.</image:caption>

<image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage - The Other Side - VAVÁ</image:title>
<image:caption>I discovered VAVÁ or Vanessa Wheeler while scrolling on Instagram one day. Honestly one of the best finds, her music is incredible. She is a guitarist and songwriter and occasionally uses a Korg Volca for looping beats. The EP, The Other Side, consists of 4 tracks and Vanessa uses different time signatures and rhythms to keep it fresh. The vocal melodies are also catchy as anything. Give it a listen!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Anderson .Paak is a genius in my eyes! His album Malibu has been on repeat for me the last few days. I found his music pretty late on after I watched a his NPR Tiny Desk Session and I couldn't get over his drumming. Have a listen and tell me your thoughts.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ride or D.I. Music Production Company Homepage</image:title>
<image:caption>For me, this album has been long awaited. I love Haim and all they stand for and this album is no different. It’s a big ‘f*ck you’ to the industry and their account of being women in music. They’ve stated that they don’t care whether people like it or not. I mean I love it, firstly it has 16 tracks which is rare these days and every track has a different vibe. It’s going to take a long time to get boring if ever!</image:caption>
